It's 1989 we have bought a Nintendo, with Zelda, Mario, etc. I watch my dad play it all the time ( I was 5 years old). I grew jealous and wanted a game system of my own so I could be like dad, :). Then I remembered my grandfather had an Atari 2600. I told my dad I wanted one, so he took me to my grandfathers and we pulled it out of storage. It is still mint in it's original box with the manuals. I played it more than the Nintendo, especially Space invaders, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. Then we get a Super Nintendo, Atari Gets packed up in boxes again, Nintedo gets hooked up in my room, S. nintendo hooked up in living room. Now let's jump ahead 5 years, It's 1994 ( I'm 10 years old), I miss my Atari 2600 that I used to spend hours playing on with my cousin. I have mom dig it out again. i hook it up, and it fires right up. Use it for about a year, then mom donates it to the goodwill!?! Then I use the nintendo till 1997, I am now 13 have a friend that's into computers. I am looking at the goodwill for computers (I collect them) and see an original Atari 2600, I had an instant flashback right there, about playing my Atari for hours on end with my cousin, and by myself and all the fun I had. I tell my computer friend about my old 2600, and how I missed it, but didn't have enough money to buy the one I saw. Then I get a unexpected email from him saying he just Upsed me an Atari 2600, with mssile command pacman, etc. He said he had a few so he said he just mailed me one. That very Atari sits on my desk right next to my Mac LC 630 now, use it all the time. I use it more than our nintendo, N64, Super nintendo, and Game Boy put together. I don't think you need fancy graphics and sounds to have fun. You just can't replace the Atari 2600! Atari Forever!
