I hope you include it: 1997- It was mid-October, and I was planning a Halloween party. I was (and still am) a Nintendo addict, buying about two games a week. My count was about up to fifty when I saw it. I was over at my friend's house. It was an Intellivision. Now, it wasn't love at first sight, but it looked pretty cool. I played it, and the graphics weren't that great, but the gameplay was much better than these new systems like N64 and Playstation. Anyway, I asked my friend where he got it. He had bought it off of some guy on the internet. I asked him, "Could you get me an Atari?" I wanted an Atari for awhile, and maybe this guy had one. He told me he could, with a couple games for about $15.00. So I told him to get me one with Donkey Kong, PacMan, and maybe QBert. He agreed. That brings me to the Halloween party. My other friend, Kyle, told me he had some old system in his attic. I asked what system it was, and he said it he thought it was an Atari 2600. I was especially surprised when he said he'd give it to me for free! I thought to myself, this is going to be sooo cool! So I waited until the party, where he would give it to me. The night of the party, he came in his costume with a big box in his hands. I said to him, "Is that the Atari?" He said he was sorry, but it was an Intellivision. I thanked him for bringing a better thing than I thought. We went downstairs and I lifted the system. There was a total of 35 good condition games! Plus, a rare wood colored game case. I brought it upstairs after the party, plugged it in, and to my demise, it barely showed up on the screen, and no music came up. I almost threw it out the window, I was so mad! But, it was free, so I didn't. I thought maybe I could fix it. I rotated the R/F cord awhile, and it began to work, and in color! There was still a bit of snow in it, but I didn't care. As long as it worked, I was happy. Well, the next day, I wasn't happy. It was back to normal, no screen. I thought it might be the switch, so I went to Radio Shack and bought a new R/F switch, and that did not work. I returned it, and called my other friend, who was going to get me an Atari. He came over, brought an extra "Telly" that didn't work. First we tried replacing the motherboard. We plugged it back in and it worked! No snow, perfect sound, everything! I woke up the next morning thinking, "please, please, please." I turned it on, and it still worked! That day, he also gave me a broken down Atari 2600. All I can say is, "Please, please, please..."
